pancetta, cheddar, sage & apple crisps: perfect pairing

Innovate your Easter ham with these ham-licious appetizers by Eva Kosmas of Adventures in Cooking.

It’s so simple – here’s how:
  • 1/3 lb pancetta
  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 oz quality white cheddar, cut into 1 x 2-inch slices
  • 15 fresh sage leaves
  • Simple & Crisp Apple

Heat the oil in a small frying pan over medium high heat. Add the block of pancetta and pan-fry for about 5 minutes on each side. Remove and place on paper towel to absorb excess oil. Cut the pancetta into roughly 1 x ½ inch strips.

Place a slice of cheddar on the apple crisp, then top with a slice of pancetta and a fresh sage leaf. Repeat until you’d used all of the ingredients. Serve immediately.

Makes about 15 servings.
